Overview

Throughout the academic year, September through June, McLean offers weekly lectures, given by world-renowned speakers, on a variety of topics, such as psychopharmacology, psychosocial treatments and clinical case conferences. Grand Rounds are held every Thursday 12:00 - 1:00 PM in Pierce Hall.

Grand Rounds conferences are free and open to the public. McLean Hospital physicians, psychologists, social workers, and nurses have the opportunity to earn Continuing Education Credit on a weekly basis.

Clinical professionals not employed by McLean Hospital and who wish to receive Continuing Education Credit may do so for a charge of $20 per conference.

Accreditations and Approvals

Physicians

McLean Hospital is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  McLean Hospital designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category1 credit™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Psychologists

McLean Hospital is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists.  McLean Hospital maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Participants meeting requirements will receive 1 CE credit.

National Board for Certified Counselors

McLean Hospital is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP™) and may offer NBCC approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program. Each session in this series is accredited for 1 clock hour of CE credit or 1 CEU.

Nurses

This program carries 1 contact hour. McLean Hospital is approved as a provider of continuing education to nursing by the Rhode Island state nurses association, which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses’ Credentialing center’s commission on accreditation

Social Workers

This program has been approved for 1 Continuing Education hour for relicensure, in accordance with 258 CMR. Collaborative of NASW and the Boston College and Simmons College School of Social Work Authorization number is D 70142.
